The University of Nebraska Board of Regents will meet Friday, Feb. 9, at Varner Hall, 3835 Holdrege St. in Lincoln. The meeting will begin at 9 a.m. The meeting is open to the public and will also be live-streamed at www.nebraska.edu.
The meeting will lead off with the installation of Chris Kabourek as interim president. Kabourek, who assumed the role on Jan. 1, will provide an update on the “Five-Point Plan” the university issued last year to improve its competitiveness and national stature.
The Board will also elect a vice chair for 2024; the current vice chair, Regent Rob Schafer of Beatrice, will assume the chairmanship, succeeding current Chair Regent Tim Clare of Lincoln.
Speaker of the Legislature John Arch will provide a legislative update.
