Approving a Job Requisition
SuccessFactors streamlines the requisition approval process by keeping campus representatives informed and engaged in a timely manner. Each campus assigns specific roles responsible for reviewing and approving job requisitions. The system automatically generates alerts when you need to review and approve a job requisition.
In addition to the automatic alerts, upon logging into SuccessFactors, the home page displays any approvals that require your attention, as you can see in the screenshot to the right. Click on the “Job Requisition” to open it up and begin the review process. If multiple approvals appear, click “View All” to choose the job requisition you want to review.

To improve transparency and communication, the "Route Map" at the top of the job requisition displays the approval process. The map indicates who has already reviewed the requisition and the next reviewer or step in the process.

Looking at the Job Requisition below, you will first see the Job Profile Details (1), which give an overview of the role.
- Requisition Information (2) displays the specifics of the hiring status.
- Hiring (3) explains why the position is being filled. If this is a replacement job requisition, you can confirm who this position is replacing.

Once you’ve made it to the bottom of the requisition, you can review the Background Check Details, Compensation Information and Roles.
As mentioned in last week’s Fun Fact Friday Volume 4, confirm the Background Check Details are accurate for OneSource to complete the validation of the candidate.
It’s critical you go through the fields carefully and confirm that the details are accurate throughout. After reviewing the job requisition, there are a few choices for how to proceed. If the requisition is accurate and you approve, click “Send to Next Step,” as shown in the screenshot below. This action forwards the job requisition to the next person in the Route Map displayed at the top of the page.

However, if fields are inaccurate and need modification, click “Send Back to Previous Approver.” Once you select “Send Back to Previous Approver,” there is an option to provide comments, as shown in the screenshot below, for the previous approver to review while making adjustments based on your feedback.
