The next Campus Conversations event is underway. In partnership with each NU campus, University of Nebraska Online co-hosts a series of talks focused on key topics related to education in the face of rapidly-changing technology. Sessions are held on their respective host campus and streamed live on the web for those who cannot attend in person.

The first webcast series takes place on October 25, 2017. Elizabeth Barkley, Ph.D., who is a professor of music at Foothill College in Los Altos Hills, CA, will be presenting Maximizing Student Engagement and Collaboration Learning through Digital Education at the University of Nebraska at Omaha campus.

Barkley has spent her career researching and writing about classroom teaching practices that transform both face-to-face and online classes so that instructors can meet the needs of diverse learners. Barkley is the author of Student Engagement Techniques: A Handbook for College Faculty and Collaborative Learning Techniques: A Handbook for College Faculty. In her books, she shares ideas for engaging students in a wide variety of disciplines. She also addresses how faculty can effectively involve students in small group work that promotes learning.

Barkley presents for Campus Conversations on October 25, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. (CST) on the University of Nebraska at Omaha campus. The presentation is available via live webcast and will be recorded and distributed after the discussion. Registration is required.
