Futurist Bryan Alexander joins the as keynote speaker. As an internationally-known researcher, writer, speaker, consultant and teacher, Alexander works in merging technology in education.
Alexander earned his Ph.D. at the University of Michigan and taught literature, writing, multimedia and information technology studies at Centenary College in Louisiana. He has held several roles at the National Institution for Technology in Liberal Education, a nonprofit organization that works to help small liberal arts colleges and universities to integrate digital technologies. Bryan Alexander Consulting was launched in 2013 and he consults throughout higher education in the United States and abroad. He publishes frequently, including the monthly report, Future Trends in Education.
Since inception in 2013, the Innovation in Pedagogy and Technology Symposium has grown and now averages attendance of 500 University of Nebraska administrators, faculty and staff. The event, co-hosted by University of Nebraska Online and University of Nebraska Information Technology, focuses on innovations in pedagogy and instructional design, leadership and strategy in online education and technology.
Speaking proposals for breakout sessions are currently being accepted until February 1, 2019. In the 50-minute sessions, speakers share best projects and initiatives that support their discipline, department, college or university mission.
Proposals are accepted for the following tracks:
- Emerging Technologies
- Leadership and Strategy in Online Learning
- Pedagogy/Instructional Design
The event is free to University of Nebraska administrators, faculty and staff.
