Meet Felicia Webb, graduate of the University of Nebraska at Omaha’s (UNO) Social Gerontology, MA online program
October 16, 2017
Meet Felicia Webb. She earned her bachelor’s online and went on to complete University of Nebraska at Omaha’s (UNO) .
Felicia Webb was 48 when she decided to go back to school. She never thought she would be able to juggle a full-time job, taking care of her son and going to school at the same time. “It was a dream that I thought about often, but I never thought I could attain it,” she said of going back to school. Everything changed when she was introduced to online learning. “The door blew right open, and I realized that I could have my job and go to school online,” she said.
For Webb, the convenience of completing coursework anywhere made it possible for her to advance her education. “The coursework was great because I could complete it from anywhere. I could open up a laptop, and wherever I was, I was walking into a classroom,” she said. “It’s amazing that I was able to achieve this within the four walls of my home. I was excited to log in every time and felt like I was opening up a door into the classroom.”
Advisers and professors were always there to help her pursue her goals. “As soon as I reached out to the University of Nebraska at Omaha, they grabbed my hand,” she said. “Professors are willing to help you achieve your dreams.”
Through online education, Webb was able to reinvent herself and become a more passionate person. Webb noted, “This online world gives you options. Now you have the opportunity to become educated in a field that you are passionate about from anywhere in the world.”
“Dreams don’t have to have a time limit, and the confines of your home don’t have to restrain you from getting your education. Your dreams can be achieved through your laptop or your desktop with just the click of a mouse,” she explained.
