To Members of the UNL Community:
As you know, we are in the final phase of a national of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. This is a critical decision for the future of UNL and the state. I’m confident we will find the right person among our four accomplished finalists to build on the university’s impressive momentum – made possible by your hard work.
We’ve entered a stage that depends in part on your active engagement. I’m writing today to urge you to attend a forum with the candidates, ask questions and share your thoughts with me. Your participation is an important part of the process and I hope you will take advantage of the many opportunities we’re providing to get to know the candidates and then tell me what you think.

Our next finalist, Dr. April Mason, provost and senior vice president at Kansas State University, visited Feb. 23-25. To those who attended their forums, thank you for your involvement. Please take a few moments to share your thoughts about and about .
The remaining two finalists will be on campus next week. Dr. Daniel Reed, vice president for research and economic development at the University of Iowa, will visit Feb. 29-March 2. Opportunities for engagement with Dr. Reed are available . And Dr. Ronnie Green, NU vice president and vice chancellor of UNL’s Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources and interim senior vice chancellor for academic affairs, will conduct his visit on March 2-4. Opportunities for engagement with Dr. Green are available . Feedback on Dr. Reed should be submitted and on Dr. Green .
All of the forums are open to any member of the campus community as well as the general public. I hope you will make time in your schedule to attend one of them.
Let me conclude by thanking Chancellor Perlman for his many years of service to the university. His leadership has positioned the campus well for the future. I also want to recognize the faculty, staff, students and other stakeholders who are serving on the chancellor search advisory committee. The committee members, in particular our chair, Dr. Sue Sheridan, have provided me with valuable advice throughout this process. I am pleased with the four finalists we’ve identified and excited to be introducing them to Nebraskans. Your participation now will help ensure that the search reaches a successful conclusion.
Thank you for all you do for the University of Nebraska.
Sincerely,
Hank Bounds
