To the Students of the University of Nebraska System:
Next week you will receive an email from Gallup, a nationally known survey firm, inviting you to participate in a university-wide campus climate survey. We’re writing to encourage you to complete the survey to help us learn how we can become a better university for all our students.
We know you are balancing classes, jobs and campus activities. We have kept the survey short and straightforward. It should take no more than 10 minutes to complete, and may be done from your desktop or smartphone. You’ll be asked for your opinions on areas like your education, campus diversity and inclusiveness, and your relationships with other students and faculty. Your answers will be completely confidential.
Your campus will use the aggregate data to develop action plans for building a more engaging, inclusive and welcoming environment. This year’s survey results will also create a baseline set of data that we can use for comparison in future years to assess whether our action plans are making a difference.
Our 51,000 students are No. 1 priority, and we are committed to ensuring that you receive the best possible education, that you feel safe and welcomed, and that you’re cared for as a person with unique strengths and perspectives. We know there is always room for improvement – and that’s where your voice comes in. Your input on this survey will help us become a stronger university not only for you, but future generations of students.
Please be on the lookout for an email from Gallup next week. Thank you in advance for your willingness to participate in this important process, and we wish you continued success this fall semester.
Sincerely,
Ted Carter
