A statement from NU System President Ted Carter on the Governor’s signing of the mid-biennium budget package:
"The budget package signed today by Governor Ricketts makes important investments in workforce development, research and innovation that will grow Nebraska’s economy and quality of life well into the future. The Governor’s support for a pancreatic cancer research center at UNMC and an agricultural research facility at UNL will make a real difference for the people of our state. I am grateful for his partnership in prioritizing agriculture and health care, two areas that Nebraskans care deeply about and where the University of Nebraska is well-positioned to contribute."
"Furthermore, I’m very pleased that the Governor has approved key investments in an expanded internship program for Nebraska and a public-private partnership to grow our national defense research. These and other efforts will help us attract and retain talent and generate economic growth for future generations."
