On March 31, 2021, the University of Nebraska System president Ted Carter announced that following a national search, he has named Joanne Li, Ph.D., CFA, as the priority candidate to serve as the next chancellor of the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
Li immediately begins a 30-day vetting period that will include public sessions during which members of the UNO community and the news media can meet Li and ask questions. The open forums—available in both in-person and virtual formats—begin Tuesday, April 6 and members of the UNO community are encouraged to attend at least one session. Members of the public may also submit feedback about Dr. Li’s candidacy to Carter anytime during the 30-day period.
