The Export Control Office provides guidance and other compliance support related to federal export regulations across the University of Nebraska. The office works with the campus export compliance programs to develop policies, training materials, and other resources for faculty, staff, and students, as well as to coordinate with other compliance offices as necessary.
Specifically, the Export Control Office:
- Provides guidance to other University offices and personnel regarding the impact of federal export regulations on University activities, including research, international travel, procurement, and shipping
- Supports the Empowered Official in reviewing University activities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and other activities requiring an export license or other approval under the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), Foreign Assets Control Regulations (FACR), or other export or sanction regulations
- Coordinates the development and implementation of the University’s export compliance program, including training materials, electronic record systems, and communications with federal agencies
