On behalf of the Board of Regents, I am pleased to present a KUDOS Award to Cindy Norton, an administrative manager in UNMC’s Department of Cellular and Integrative Physiology.
It’s a department she knows well, having joined UNMC – and, in fact, this very department - in 1980 as its secretary. Today, as administrative manager, she handles all of the department’s grant submissions - and, does it so well that UNMC Sponsored Programs tells other departments to look to Cindy as a positive example of how to do things.
Said her nominator: “Cindy epitomizes excellence. She is always looking out for the good of the department and helping us to improve in all we do.”
She has high standards – and a strong commitment to help others, said her nominator. “Of all the places I’ve worked, I have never received assistance to this degree with my grant submissions.”
An integral part of the department, Cindy also has developed ways for the entire team to better communicate with each other, which, pre-COVID, included initiating monthly lab tours to help labs within the department socialize.
Cindy’s nominator appreciates her calming influence and novel ideas to improve processes and procedures within the growing department. “Cindy is helping us to get to excellence …she goes above and beyond for our department on a continuous basis.”
Please join me in thanking Cindy for her commitment and outstanding service to UNMC and the Department of Cellular and Integrative Physiology.
