Elected to the Board of Regents 2022
Kathy Wilmot is a sixth-generation Nebraskan. She and her husband, Wes, reside near her childhood home of Beaver City. They have three adult children and ten grandchildren.
After graduating from Beaver City High School, Kathy attended McCook Junior College and later graduated from Kearney State College. Her professional experience includes teaching in Nebraska’s public school system and serving as an Equal Opportunity Commission investigator, Training Officer, and Accreditation Manager for the Kansas Department of Corrections, where she successfully assisted the Norton Correctional Facility in achieving national certification with the American Correctional Association.
Wilmot has a long history of public service, including as a member of the Nebraska State Board of Education, representing District 7 (western portion of Nebraska) for eight years.
