The Board of Regents is pleased to present a KUDOS award to Huai-Mei Furman, Director of Academic Advising and the Certification Officer for the College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences at the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
Hanna Wanzenried Solberg, an advisor in the college, says: "Huai-Mei is the type of person that is task-orientated and leads by calm, steady example. She isn't one to seek accolades but simply serves her unit and the wider UNO community to the best of her abilities. She has shown humility and growth when mistakes are made, gives grace and support to her team, and constantly refines her leadership process."
Furman’s talent for improving processes led to the creation of innovative methods to track student success and support their journey as Mavericks.
"Huai-Mei worked with Systems Intelligence and Data Analytics to develop a more robust Academic Advising report for units to use tracking enrollment, advising holds, noting specific course enrollment and other essential data. This report has been critical in retention and outreach efforts."
With Huai-Mei today are, Dr. Neal Grandgenett, Interim Dean of the UNO College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences, and her spouse, Christopher Furman.
Please join me in thanking Huai-Mei for her dedication to the University of Nebraska at Omaha and to the College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences.
