The Board of Regents is pleased to present a KUDOS award to Gloria Marchio Office Assistant for the Department of Political Science in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
Dr. Michelle Black, an Associate Professor at UNO, says: “Gloria keeps our department functioning, but also, she is the glue that keeps us together energizing us each day when tests, grading, classes, deadlines, and conferences can feel overwhelming. She keeps us resilient with her quick thinking, her knowledge on process, and helps us conquer the day.”
Gloria’s support helps to foster collaboration in the department, keeping faculty in sync as they teach classes, work on various projects, attend conferences to present research, and meet other demands.
“She goes above her duties to ensure faculty are equipped to teach their courses, conduct research, and collaborate with community members. Without her, the faculty would be running around confused on how to schedule travel, budget their grants, and employ students for their research. She keeps us straight on our deadlines and does it all way a positive attitude.”
Today, Gloria has brought the following guests: her spouse Rob Marchio; Dr. Melanie Bloom, Dean of the UNO College of Arts and Sciences; Dr. Randy Adkins, Senior Associate Dean of the UNO College of Arts and Sciences; Dr. Carson Holloway, UNO Political Science Department Chair; and Dr. Michelle Black, UNO Associate Professor.
Please join me in thanking Gloria for her dedication to the University of Nebraska at Omaha and to the UNO Department of Political Science.
