The University of Nebraska takes the health and safety of our students, faculty and staff very seriously. We encourage students, faculty and staff to be mindful of their health and wellness as concerns of coronavirus grow.

Global and US health officials continue to address the spread of the novel coronavirus and COVID-19 infection and relay guidance. NU leadership, in collaboration with the Governor of Nebraska and state health officials, are also monitoring the situation and will provide updates to our University-wide community as changes occur.

Links to campus-specific COVID-19 information and details on fall planning are available below in the Campus COVID-19 Information section.

"As the spread of the coronavirus continues to disrupt many of our personal and professional lives, we find ourselves in a period of unique challenge and uncertainty. The chancellors and I, together with colleagues across the University of Nebraska system, are in daily communication about the impact of the virus on our community and what we can do to protect the health and safety of our students, faculty and staff."

What We're Doing to Help

A university is a place where people think about the future—and act to make that future better. During the pandemic, our faculty, staff and students have been hard at work figuring out ways to help others: doctors, nurses, and other essential workers. People in the community who have been impacted by COVID-19. K-12 students who are now learning to learn online. Businesses who are struggling to stay open. The list goes on and on.

The University of Nebraska contributes to society in ways that go beyond teaching students. Our efforts to support the common good—at the local, state, national and global levels—are a natural extension of what higher education does.

In good times and in bad, we put the best and brightest minds together to solve problems.

University of Nebraska Emergency Assistance Fund

The University of Nebraska System is working to support the needs of students, faculty and staff affected by COVID-19. One of those ways is our Emergency Assistance Fund, which enables the university to help currently enrolled students and current university employees (faculty and staff) who face financial hardship resulting from emergency or crisis situations.
