The Capital Construction team works primarily on major building projects. From planning to project managing, engineering to architecture, infrastructure to interior design, this team will take you through the process from beginning to end.
Category 1: Projects with Budgets Over $5M
These are more complex capital projects to construct new buildings, renovate or add on large areas/building systems. They require a more intensive project procedure that includes Board of Regents review and other special approvals. The timeline for these projects can range from 18 to 54 months.
These projects include formal programming to establish a proposed scope, schedule and budget. A standard format is used to represent these details and share them with the Board of Regents.
Category 2: Projects with Budgets Between $500,000 and $5M
Capital projects in this cost range typically involve renovation or addition of large areas/improvements to building systems.
While this size of project does not require Board of Regents approval, there may be other special approvals needed for completion. The timeline for these projects can range from nine to 36 months.
Projects with Budgets $500,000 or less
Projects in this budget range are minor projects and can include renovating a single area or minor renovation of multiple classrooms, offices, labs or other space. Please see the Small Projects page for more information on projects below $500,000.
