Board of Regents names Jeffrey P. Gold, M.D. as the ninth University of Nebraska System President
On April 26, 2024, the Board of Regents appointed Jeffrey P. Gold, M.D., as the ninth president of the University of Nebraska System.
Dr. Gold has held several roles at the University of Nebraska System since 2014, including chancellor of the University of Nebraska Medical Center, chancellor of the University of Nebraska at Omaha, and executive vice president and provost.
Before joining UNMC, Dr. Gold was chancellor of the University of Toledo’s academic and clinical health sciences. He previously served at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine-Montefiore Medical System and the Weill Cornell College of Medicine-New York Presbyterian Medical Center. Dr. Gold is a graduate of the Cornell University College of Engineering and the Weill Cornell College of Medicine.
The Board of Regents thanked the hundreds of Nebraskans who have participated in the search process over the past few months, especially the faculty, students, and community members on the Presidential Search Advisory Committee who have given so generously of their time and ideas.
